DANIEL C. COOPER
Daniel (“Dan”) Cooper has been a practicing lawyer since 1990. Dan has spent his career as a litigator, representing both businesses and individuals in various types of cases including personal injury and wrongful death cases, automobile and trucking accidents, products liability, premises liability, professional negligence and malpractice, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith. Dan is a trial lawyer, having tried numerous cases in state and federal court. Dan has also represented clients on appeals before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Dan’s practice is served well by his energetic and thoughtful approach to legal issues, his ability to provide clients with a candid and honest assessment of their legal concerns, and his zealous advocacy.
JAMISON H. COOPER
Jamison (“Jami”) Cooper has a practice that focuses on pre-litigation and litigation matters. The particular fields in which she practices have included commercial disputes, insurance coverage, construction, contracts, personal injury and wrongful death, condemnation and eminent domain, premises liability, consumer products and “lemon law” issues, insurance bad faith and professional liability. In addition to her practice before the state and federal courts, she handles matters on an administrative or regulatory front, including matters pending before the West Virginia Insurance Commissioner and professional disciplinary matters before various boards and commissions, including the West Virginia nursing boards and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel.
MELISSA "MISSY" McKEEN
Kim Reed is a litigation paralegal who comes to the firm with experience in corporate law and municipal law. Kim assists in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. She handles document management, drafting of pleadings, fact development, depositions, mediations and trial preparation. Before beginning her career as a paralegal, Kim served as Office Administrator and Municipal Clerk for the Bridgeport Police Department and Executive Assistant to the CEO, COO, CFO and Corporate Attorney at Princeton Insurance Company, New Jersey’s largest medical malpractice provider. Kim attended Mercer County College, Rider University and currently attends Fairmont State University. She resides in Bridgeport with her husband Keith and their children Phillip and Olivia. Kim enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with her family and watching her children play sports.
Laura Smith is the office manager of Cooper Law Offices. She graduated from California State University, Chico, in 2001 where she received her degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. While studying at CSUC, she also completed the Paralegal Certificate Course and completed an internship with the Community Legal Information Center, a student-run non-profit organization providing legal information to students and members of the community. After graduating, she worked as a litigation project assistant at a global intellectual property firm in San Francisco, where she assisted with document management in complex cases. In her free time, Laura enjoys cooking, reading, running, traveling and spending time with her family and their two dogs, Zuzu and Hoss.
Minta Kyle is the firm’s administrative assistant and sits at the crucial hub of our office. Her passion for helping others is contagious, and she is always ready to lend a compassionate ear and helping hand. Minta is actively involved with her church. An avid shooter, she also enjoys spending her free time playing tennis, baking, cooking, and spending time with her husband, daughter and their two cats, Stella and Bob.
